Sheryl Dinklage

Sheryl says she could be considered a “Texan” as her parents were married in Corpus Christi where her dad received his Navy wings.
After the war he flew for Northwest Airlines, then they moved to western Nebraska to the family farm/ranch.
She enjoyed playing piano/harmonica duets with her grandfather, also attending old fashioned gospel tent meetings with him to hear the piano player “Rock” up front on the wooden stage!
She attended high school in Pawnee City, Nebraska, studying piano, voice and french horn, then pipe organ at Augustana College in Rock Island, Ill.
She taught piano…30 students after school, was pipe organist, piano accompanist for schools in Papillion, Nebraska and Council Bluffs, Iowa, music activity assistant in a Danish nursing home and social worker in Omaha before moving to San Antonio in 2005.
She had finished her degree in Social Work with a music minor at the University of Nebraska, Omaha, in 1990.
Upon moving to Texas, she was a full time music director at King of Kings Lutheran Church, San Antonio, then St. John’s Lutheran, Bellville, Texas.
In 2012, Sheryl moved back to San Antonio, applied for a part time position at Northminster, and has enjoyed it immensely. The staff is terrific and the people are wonderful! She likes to be where the music is!
