Worship, Music, and Arts Ministry

Worship lies at the heart of our Northminster faith community.  It is worship that brings us together to glorify God in word, prayer, song, and sacrament. It is worship that leads us out into the world to do Christ’s bidding as loving faithful disciples.

Our worship is vibrant; we love creativity and incorporate as many different styles, mediums, and people as possible to lead us in worship. There are opportunities for people of various gifts and talents, as well as levels of time commitment. The responsibilities, many of which, are done behind the scenes, are broad and important to the life and worship at Northminster.

Our worship is God-centered, biblically based, and liturgical. We are traditional, contemporary, and everything in between.

And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice – the kind he will accept. When you think of what he has done for you, is this too much to ask? Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will know what God wants you to do, and you will know how good and pleasing and perfect his will really is.

(Romans 12:1-2.)

Music & Arts

Music is a vital and integral part of worship at Northminster. Our music reinforces and heightens the meaning of Scripture and the spoken word. We sustain ourselves as individuals and as a congregation through rich worship experiences filled with diverse artistic expression. Our music reinforces and heightens the meaning of Scripture and the spoken word. We welcome participation of all ages and levels of experience to join in our music making in the choir or as instrumentalist in an ensemble. There is joy to be shared through music!!

“Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker!” Psalm 95: 6
